PICAYUNE – A Picayune man was arrested Monday after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on West Lakeshore Drive and found methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and cash, according to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department said deputies with the Narcotics Division, assisted by the SWAT Team, Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division, served the warrant around 5:55 a.m. April 6 at the home of Jack Ceaser, 46, and Jessica Stewart, 42, at 726 W. Lakeshore Drive.
Investigators said the warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation prompted by numerous community complaints about suspected drug trafficking at the residence.
According to authorities, Ceaser was inside the home when deputies arrived and was seen attempting to destroy evidence. He was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the residence turned up what officials described as an aggravating quantity of methamphetamine, along with plastic baggies, a digital scale and a large amount of cash.
Ceaser was taken to the Pearl River County Correctional Facility and charged with felony aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
Authorities said Stewart was not at the residence when the warrant was served. A warrant will be issued charging her with felony aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance.
Sheriff David Allison praised the work of the Narcotics Division, SWAT Team, Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division, and thanked community members for reporting suspected drug trafficking activity.
