PICAYUNE – A Picayune man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Pearl River County, according to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said the stop happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, on Jackson Landing Road near Lilac Drive. Deputies with the Patrol Division stopped a Chrysler 200 for an expired tag.
Investigators said deputies made contact with the driver, identified as 50-year-old Steven Thom of Picayune. During a search of the vehicle, deputies said they found methamphetamine and Adderall.
Thom was taken into custody and transported to the Pearl River County Correctional Facility, where he was booked on charges of felony possession with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance.
Sheriff David Allison said he wants the public to know deputies are continuing efforts to keep drugs off the streets.
