JONES COUNTY – A man in connection with a vehicle fire that damaged three vehicles at Howard Industries.
According to the sheriff’s department, Rashad Lawrence, 30, was arrested on three counts of arson. Authorities said Lawrence peacefully surrendered to Deputy Jarone’ Walker at a residence in the Currie community.
Investigators said Lawrence is accused of setting fire to a vehicle in the employee parking lot at Howard Industries in Pendorff on March 31, 2026. Two vehicles parked next to the original vehicle were also damaged in the fire.
Lawrence is being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.
