JACKSON – Patients at Children’s of Mississippi got a special dose of joy this week when krewes from Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival brought a parade-sized celebration right to them, complete with mini floats and festive throws.

The visit tied one of Jackson’s most loved spring traditions directly to the children and families it helps support. Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade, often described by organizers as a “green Mardi Gras,” is a longtime downtown Jackson celebration known for its colorful floats and community spirit. Organizers say the festival honors the legacy of Hal White, celebrates downtown Jackson and supports Children’s of Mississippi.
This year’s main parade is set for noon Saturday, March 28, in downtown Jackson. Festival events also include pet and children’s parades at Smith Park, part of a larger weekend celebration that has become a signature event for the capital city.
For the young patients who got an early visit, the parade came in a smaller form, but certainly made their days.
