Adams County fugitive captured in Baton Rouge

ADAMS COUNTY – One of Adams County’s most wanted fugitives was captured Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Dionntae Dishta was apprehended March 26 by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Following his arrest, Dishta was charged in Louisiana with illegal carrying of weapons with a controlled dangerous substance, distribution or possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I controlled substance, drug paraphernalia prohibited acts, possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies, multiple fugitive warrant counts, and criminal street gangs and patterns of criminal street gang activity.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said it has also placed a detainer on Dishta for outstanding charges in Adams County that include tampering with physical evidence, trafficking a controlled substance, a controlled substance violation and receiving stolen property.

Sheriff Travis Patten said the arrest reflects the value of cooperation between agencies in locating and apprehending fugitives.

Dishta will remain in custody in Louisiana pending legal proceedings and extradition to Adams County, according to the sheriff’s office.
