JACKSON — A 24-year-old man died after being shot early Sunday outside a sports bar on Ridgewood Road, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Officers with Precinct Four responded around 2:30 a.m. to the 6300 block of Ridgewood Road at Last Call Sports Bar in reference to a shooting. Investigators said Joshua Butler was shot following an altercation at the location.
Butler was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle, where he later died from his injuries, police said. His next of kin has been notified.
The department’s Robbery Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit were called to the scene to investigate.
No additional details about suspects or possible arrests were immediately released.
