Brandon Police Department

BRANDON — Brandon Police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered early Saturday inside a Towne Street residence in what investigators believe may be a murder-suicide.

Officers responded at approximately 1:20 a.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Towne Street after a family member called police to report finding two people dead inside the home, according to a release from Brandon Police Chief Joseph French.

The victims were identified as Janitra Evette Patrick, 41, and Jimmy Orlando Patrick, 40. Both died from gunshot wounds, according to a preliminary investigation.

Investigators said the shooting appears to stem from a domestic issue and is being treated as a murder-suicide. Police said there is no evidence of an ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
