RANKIN COUNTY – Curtis Edward Wilmoth was convicted Wednesday on multiple charges related to child sexual battery and gratification of lust following a trial that began Monday, according to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said the case stemmed from an investigation that began after the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received allegations related to the offenses.

During sentencing, Judge Brad Mills ordered Wilmoth to serve 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 20 years of that sentence suspended.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department thanked Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett and his staff for their work on the case.
