Norbert Henry Jr.BILOXI — Authorities say a Texas man was arrested after nearly nine pounds of cocaine were discovered during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Harrison County.
Matt Haley announced Thursday that deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office seized 8.8 pounds of cocaine during a stop along Interstate 10 eastbound near the 40-mile marker in Biloxi.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy assigned to the Criminal Interdiction Division and an agent with the U.S. Border Patrol conducted the traffic stop at about 11:08 a.m. March 11 on a black Jeep Wagoneer for a traffic violation.
During the stop, the driver identified himself as Norbert Henry Jr. of Houston, Texas. A search of the vehicle led deputies to discover 8.8 pounds of cocaine hidden inside the vehicle, authorities said.
Investigators with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office narcotics division responded to the scene and took over the case.
Henry was booked into the Harrison County jail and charged with trafficking cocaine. Authorities did not release additional details about the investigation.
