GREENVILLE – The Greenville Police Department is investigating an assault that happened early Sunday morning outside a business on Highway 82 East.
Police said officers responded March 8 to the 1300 block of Highway 82 East, at Rack & Cue, after receiving a report of an assault.
When officers arrived, they spoke with a sheriff’s deputy who said the male victim had been escorted from the location earlier and was assaulted a short time later.
According to police, the victim said he was attacked in the parking lot by an unknown male after leaving the club.
The victim was taken to Delta Health for initial treatment and was later airlifted to another medical facility for further care.
Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a dark-colored sweater or hoodie.
Chief Marcus Turner said a video of the incident is circulating on social media and investigators are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect to help identify and locate the person of interest.
Police also said there were witnesses at the scene who have not yet come forward.
