JACKSON — A man has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with a Sunday night shooting that left two people dead in Jackson.
Michael Knight appeared Tuesday in Municipal Court, where bond was set at $2 million for two murder charges. Authorities allege Knight is responsible for the shooting deaths of Antonio Arnold and Glen McWilliams.
Officers with the Jackson Police Department were dispatched around 10 p.m. Sunday to the 5300 block of Dogwood Trail near Oakridge Road in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found two deceased individuals: a Black male lying in a ditch and a white male lying in the street nearby.
The victims were identified as 31-year-old Antonio Arnold and 63-year-old Glen McWilliams. Authorities said next of kin have been notified.
The department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit responded to the scene, along with the Hinds County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation remains active.
