PANOLA COUNTY – The Panola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide after two people were found dead inside a vehicle early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, deputies were dispatched around 7 a.m. March 1 to a reported one-vehicle motor vehicle collision on River Road in central Panola County.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Victor Gonzalez, 39, and Serenity Gonzalez, 19, both of Memphis, Tennessee, deceased inside the vehicle. Investigators said both individuals appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.
The sheriff’s office said the homicides are believed to have happened on Feb. 28 or March 1.
The case remains under investigation.
