MADISON — A man was found dead inside a vehicle Friday morning in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Madison, according to police.
Officers with the Madison Police Department were called around 11:35 a.m. to the store at 205 Colony Way after receiving a report of a possibly deceased individual.
Responding officers located a male inside a truck that was backed into a parking space near the business and confirmed he was dead at the scene.
Investigators were called to begin a preliminary investigation into the manner of death. Authorities said the vehicle and the deceased have been transported to the State of Mississippi Crime Lab for further examination.
The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Madison County Coroner’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are assisting with the investigation.
Officials said the case remains under investigation and additional details will be released when available.
