PONTOTOC COUNTY – A Pontotoc County man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine, according to the First Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said Adrian Rashad McCoy entered the guilty plea Feb. 19, 2026. McCoy had been indicted by a Pontotoc County grand jury on a charge of trafficking of methamphetamine, officials said.
Judge Kelly Mims sentenced McCoy to 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the district attorney’s office said. Prosecutors said McCoy will be required to serve the full sentence and is not eligible for parole or early release.
The case was investigated by Kory Clowers, the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, according to the district attorney’s office. Assistant District Attorneys Megan French and Sidra Winter prosecuted the case.
