GULFPORT — A 17-year-old Gulfport resident has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting of a 14-year-old boy Friday night, police said.
Marrion Greer was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of aggravated assault, according to the Gulfport Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 9:13 p.m. to the area of 28th Street and Hudson Avenue in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a 14-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a planned meeting between individuals to fight over a female, police said.
Greer was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
