GREENVILLE – Greenville police are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2026 after a 21-year-old man was found fatally shot in the roadway Tuesday afternoon.
The Greenville Police Department said officers were called at about 3:49 p.m. Feb. 3 to the 1900 block of Lowe’s Road for a report of a person lying in the street. Responding officers found a Black male who appeared to have been shot multiple times, police said.
Family members identified the victim as Tony Parker Jr., 21, of Greenville, according to police.
Investigators said Parker’s 2022 Toyota Camry was also taken. The vehicle was found abandoned the following day, Feb. 4, in the area of Causey and Baskin Drive.
Police said investigators are working with the Department of Homeland Security to process evidence in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous, and tips that lead to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000, authorities said.
Police Chief Marcus Turner Sr. said in a statement that investigators are also working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office as the case continues.
