TUPELO – A Baldwyn man was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance after a traffic stop in Tupelo, police said.
The Tupelo Police Department said officers with its Special Operation Group and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop Feb. 1 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle, according to police. Investigators said they found drug paraphernalia in the possession of front-seat passenger Clifton J. Donald, 33, who was taken into custody.
Police said a large amount of suspected methamphetamine was later found on Donald’s person.
Donald was charged with felony trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen set Donald’s bond at $200,000. The case will be presented to a Lee County grand jury, police said.
