UPDATE: The escapee is back in custody. Booneville PD, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Tupelo Police all helped with the search.
A drone was brought in to look for him and ended up locating him then directed officers on the ground to him.

PRENTISS COUNTY — The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for an inmate who ran from a county work program and fled into the woods near the county Justice Center.
The sheriff’s department said the inmate, Austin Michael Smith, 25, was last seen running into the woods east of the Justice Center. He was described as a white male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 210 pounds, wearing no shirt, orange jail pants and red tennis shoes.
Authorities said Smith was arrested Tuesday, placed on the county work program and was expected to be released Friday. The sheriff’s department said he is not considered armed or dangerous.
