PICAYUNE — A 13-year-old is in custody after a shooting Monday afternoon in Picayune left a 16-year-old injured, according to WLOX.
WLOX reported that Police Chief Joe Quave said the two teens were outside apartments on Lewis Circle at about 2 p.m. when gunfire erupted. Investigators believe the 13-year-old shot the 16-year-old, and the older teen fired back, but only the 16-year-old was struck, Quave said.
The 13-year-old later turned himself in and has been charged with aggravated assault, WLOX reported. The 16-year-old’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
