LUCEDALE – A 19-year-old Lucedale woman was killed Friday morning in a crash on Highway 63 in George County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded at about 8:15 a.m. Jan. 23. Investigators said a 1995 GMC Sierra driven by Haylee Churchwell, 19, was traveling north on Highway 63 when it crossed the median and collided with a southbound 2005 Freightliner driven by Joe Thompson, 44, of Moss Point.
Churchwell was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, the highway patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation.
