VICKSBURG – The Vicksburg Police Department says it is investigating a recent series of shootings in the city and has two people in custody believed to be responsible for a drive-by shooting that occurred Jan. 13.
In a statement, the chief of police said the shootings have raised fear and frustration in the community and emphasized that the department is dedicating significant resources to each investigation.
Police said officers are working around the clock to follow leads and identify those responsible. The chief also said the recent shooting incidents are not related to each other.
Authorities said two individuals are currently in custody in connection with Tuesday’s drive-by shooting. Police said the investigation remains active and that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
