MIZE — Emergency crews responded to a car-train collision in Smith County on Monday evening that resulted in injuries, according to Smith County Emergency Management.
The agency said the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a railroad crossing. Responders from the Smith County Emergency Management Agency, the Mize Volunteer Fire Department, AmeriPro Ambulance Service and the Smith County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene to provide medical care and secure the area.
Officials did not release details on the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries.
Smith County Emergency Management thanked the agencies involved for their coordinated response and also acknowledged Rescue 7 for assisting at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities asked the public to keep those injured in their prayers.
