YAZOO COUNTY — A 33-year-old man died after being shot Friday afternoon on Longwood Cove in Yazoo County, authorities said.
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department received a call about the shooting at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Jan. 3. Deputies responded to the scene and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies administered life-saving measures until Pafford Emergency Services arrived.
The victim, identified as Cornelius Stuckey, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Hospital in Yazoo City, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Two men have surrendered in connection with the shooting and are being held at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility, according to the sheriff’s department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
