JACKSON, Miss. — Jackson police have identified the victim found inside a burning vehicle on Eddy Street as 56-year-old Gary Bolden, authorities said.
The Jackson Police Department began investigating the homicide on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, after the Jackson Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on Eddy Street, police said. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the body of a person inside the vehicle.
Investigators later determined the victim had been shot, police said. A motive has not been determined.
