ANDALUSIA – An Ole Miss football player was arrested in Alabama a few days before the Rebels were set to play in the Sugar Bowl, according to WTVA.
Dante Jovon Core, a freshman defensive back from Florida, was arrested the day after Christmas during a traffic stop.
WTVA reported that the stop happened in Andalusia. Officers said the vehicle was traveling at more than 110 miles per hour and did not have a visible license plate.
During the stop, officers said they smelled marijuana so they searched the vehicle and uncovered drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
Core was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphanelia, according to WTVA.
