JACKSON – According to Jackson Police Chief Tyree Jones, an infant was found deceased inside a motel in Jackson Monday morning.
Jackson police were called at 9:12 a.m. to 2709 Greenway Drive at Motel 6 regarding a deceased infant.
During the investigation, homicide detectives said they learned that a 1-month old infant was found unresponsive by his father and mother at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the hotel room where they were staying.
The father and mother told detectives they both saw the child alive around 2:00 a.m. They were both interviewed at Jackson Police headquarters.
The Corner’s office took custody of the infant, and an autopsy will be performed.
The child was found at the Motel 6 on Greenway Drive in Jackson.
