BOBO — One person was critically injured early Wednesday morning when an 18-wheeler overturned on Highway 61 South near Bobo, authorities said.
Firefighters with the Coahoma County Fire Department and Pafford EMS were dispatched to the scene at about 1:56 a.m. after receiving reports of the rollover crash. When crews arrived, they found an individual suffering from severe traumatic injuries.
Paramedics provided emergency medical care at the scene before the injured person was airlifted to a regional trauma center. The individual’s identity and condition were not immediately released.
Firefighters from the Lyon and Bobo areas also responded to the crash. Two heavy-duty wreckers were required to assist with recovery efforts, authorities said.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
