MARION COUNTY — A Silver Alert is ongoing for a Columbia woman last seen Saturday afternoon in a rural area of Marion County.
MBI activated the alert on behalf of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for 62-year-old Catherine Ann Martin, who was last seen around 1 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Fire Tower Road. She was reportedly walking west at the time.
Martin is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, dark pants and brown sandals.
Family members told investigators that Martin suffers from a medical condition that may impair her judgment, raising concerns for her safety.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents in the surrounding area, especially and including Firetower Road, Pineburr Road, Highway 13 South and South County Line Road, to be on the lookout. Deputies are asking the public to check doorbell cameras, security systems and game cameras for any possible sightings.
