Possible arson under investigation at Bonita Lakes Inn in Meridian

A potential arson investigation is underway after a fire broke out Wednesday morning at the Bonita Lakes Inn—the former Baymont Inn—at 524 Bonita Lakes Drive.

Meridian Fire Department Chief Deputy Eric Hardy said crews arrived around 9:30 a.m. and later found suspicious items inside one of the rooms. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to assist.

The building was unoccupied due to ongoing renovations, and no injuries were reported.

The cause remains under investigation. Officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
