The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says agents seized cocaine, marijuana, cash, firearms, and a vehicle during a Monday search of a residence in Hattiesburg, Lamar County.
MBN identified the suspect as Rodney Jermaine Cooper, 43, who was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated trafficking of cocaine while in possession of a firearm, and trafficking marijuana while in possession of a firearm.
Source: MS Dept. of Public SafetyAgents reported seizing approximately 686 grams of powder cocaine, 9,890 grams of marijuana, two firearms, $9,740 in cash, and a 2016 Cadillac CT6. Officials said drug weights are preliminary and will be confirmed by the Mississippi Crime Laboratory. The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the operation.
“This is another great example of the hard work our agents and law enforcement officers do every day to get criminals and illegal drugs off our streets,” said Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel added, “This is what happens when you have a good working relationship between state and local partners.”
The investigation is ongoing.
