A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly pointing a weapon at a parent and two small children in the parking lot of Soulshine Pizza Factory, according to the Gluckstadt Police Department.

Officers were called on Oct. 28, 2025, for a report of a subject pointing a gun from inside a vehicle. Police said a white male driving a Ford F-150 had been in a verbal altercation with the complainant and then aimed a firearm equipped with a light and laser at the adult and two children as they walked through the lot.

Investigators quickly obtained surveillance video and the truck’s tag number. A short time later, officers stopped the vehicle on Church Street near U.S. Highway 51.

Charles Edward Burrage was taken into custody and booked at the Gluckstadt Police Department on three counts of Simple Assault — Attempt by Physical Menace to Put Another in Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Harm by pointing and aiming a firearm.

Police credited a rapid response and patrol work for locating and arresting Burrage without incident soon after the call.
