RIDGELAND — The City of Ridgeland will close Ridgewood Road and Wilson Drive near Ridgewood starting Monday, October 20 for necessary drainage improvements. Depending on weather conditions and construction progress, the closure is expected to last several months.
During this period, motorists are asked to plan and use Centre Street and Adcock Drive as primary detour routes. Detour signage will be clearly posted to assist drivers.
This project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to reduce flooding in the Purple Creek Basin. Crews will replace the existing, undersized drainage pipes beneath Ridgewood Road with a properly sized box culvert designed to improve the area’s water flow and stormwater management.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete this important infrastructure improvement,” said Alan Hart, Public Works Director. “Once finished, this project will significantly improve drainage capacity and help prevent future flooding issues in the surrounding neighborhoods.”
