A woman who was shot while riding as a passenger in an SUV in Jackson has died from her injuries a day later at the hospital.

Jackson police said the shooting happened Sunday on 5700 Medgar Evers Blvd. 33-year-old Amelia Neal was riding in a silver Honda CRV.
The SUV was traveling east on Cynthia Road approaching Hwy 49 when it was fired into by the occupant of a black passenger car with Louisiana license plates.
Amelia Neal was in the front passenger seat and was hit by one of the rounds.
Detectives said they do not know a motive for the shooting.
One day later, Amelia Neal died from her injuries at the hospital. Her death makes this the 50th homicide in Jackson of the year.
