HEIDELBERG — Four Bay Springs teenagers have been arrested in connection with a homecoming night shooting at Heidelberg High School that left two people dead, authorities said.
Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson said Monday night that Jadarius Quartez Page and Jabari Deshaun Collins, both 19, were booked into the Jasper County Jail earlier that evening. He said authorities expect to make at least one more arrest.
Page is charged with accessory after the fact, and Collins is charged with possession of a deadly weapon on educational property, Johnson said.
They are the third and fourth suspects arrested in connection with the shooting that broke out Friday night following Heidelberg’s homecoming football game against Mize.
Two people — Chris Newell, 35, and Mikeia McCray, 28, both of Laurel — were killed in the gunfire, according to Jasper County Deputy Coroner Jesse Crosby, who released their identities Monday.
Tylar Jarod Goodloe, 18, of Bay Springs, has been charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of possession of a deadly weapon on educational property in connection with the shooting. Goodloe was taken into custody Saturday by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for questioning, then charged and booked Sunday.
Jasper County Justice Court Judge Jacqueline Barnett set Goodloe’s bond at $2,010,000 cash only Sunday afternoon.
Damarin D. Starks, 19, also of Bay Springs, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of accessory after the fact and one count of tampering with physical evidence, Johnson said.
The Heidelberg Police Department is listed as the arresting agency for all four suspects. Johnson said Page, Collins, and Starks are expected to have their bond hearings Tuesday.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting Heidelberg Police in the ongoing investigation.
