LINCOLN COUNTY — A Hattiesburg man was killed Saturday night after his pickup truck ran off the road and hit an embankment in Lincoln County, authorities said.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 9:19 p.m. Oct. 11 on Highway 84. Troopers said a 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 63-year-old Melvin Thompson of Hattiesburg was traveling west when it left the roadway and struck an embankment.
Thompson was taken by ambulance to King’s Daughters Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
