A week-long joint investigation by the Brandon and Florence police departments led to the arrest of 25-year-old Kemarius Armstrong, of Pearl, in connection with a series of recent auto burglaries across both cities.
Detectives from Florence, working alongside Brandon investigators, took Armstrong into custody on Wednesday after developing him as a suspect with the help of tips from residents. During the investigation, detectives determined Armstrong was in possession of multiple items confirmed stolen in the burglaries.
“This arrest highlights the importance of strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies and members of the community,” said Brandon Police Chief Joseph French. “Through collaboration and information-sharing, we were able to quickly identify and apprehend a suspect responsible for victimizing members of our communities.”
Armstrong was booked into the Rankin County Jail, where he faces multiple charges related to the burglaries. Police say the case remains active and additional charges may follow.
Authorities reminded residents to lock vehicles, remove valuables, and report suspicious activity immediately.
