RANKIN COUNTY — A Rankin County man has been indicted on multiple sex crime charges involving a child, according to court records.
A grand jury returned a six-count indictment against Michael Todd Bridges, 51, of Rankin County, alleging he sexually abused a child over the course of several years.
The indictment accuses Bridges of engaging in sexual acts with the girl beginning in 2004, when she was under 14, and continuing until 2013, when she was still under 18.
Bridges faces four counts of sexual battery under Mississippi law, alleging acts that occurred when the child was younger than 14, between 14 and 16, and while he was in a position of trust. He also faces two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes.
The charges stem from incidents alleged to have taken place between 2004 and 2013, according to the indictment.
Bridges’ case will proceed in Rankin County Circuit Court. If convicted, he could face decades in prison.
