MIZE — In August 1994, Shelia Sullivan of Mize was reported missing in Columbus, Ohio.
Sullivan, whose name is also spelled “Sheila” in some reports, was 40 years old at the time. According to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, she was between 5’5″ and 5’9″ tall and weighed between 105 and 120 pounds. She had blonde hair and green or blue eyes. Records note that she had surgical scars on her neck, head, and chest, as well as scars near her ears from jaw surgery. Her ears were pierced.
Advocacy groups in Mississippi have highlighted Sullivan’s case because of her ties to the state, but searches of news archives and other sites turn up very little official published information on her disappearance. A cousin of her boyfriend at the time is said to have suggested she may have been killed and buried in Mt. Olive, Miss., though investigators have not confirmed that claim.
Her disappearance is listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System under case number MP24883. The Columbus Division of Police is the investigating agency.
