The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office has charged several suspects in connection with the 2024 murder of 38-year-old Vandarren McCray, who was shot and killed at Kirby Estates Apartments in Robinsonville.
On September 2, 2024, deputies responded to a 911 call around 7:52 p.m. at 2669 Kirby Road. When they arrived, they found McCray suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite first responders trying to save him, McCray died at the scene and was pronounced deceased by Tunica County Coroner Glen Grant.
As the investigation progressed, multiple suspects were identified and arrested:

Michael Cage, 30, of Robinsonville — arrested September 2, 2025, and charged with murder, conspiracy, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Jarvis Grant, 32, of Robinsonville — arrested September 6, 2024, and charged with murder and conspiracy.

Tanio Hall, 30, of Robinsonville — arrested September 4, 2024, and charged with murder and conspiracy.

Tavion Crutchfield, 23, of Louisiana — arrested September 4, 2024, and charged with accessory after the fact and conspiracy.
During the September 4, 2024, search warrant at Kirby Estates Apartments, Hall and Crutchfield were also taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Hall was wanted in Texas on weapon and failure-to-appear charges, while Crutchfield was wanted in Louisiana for false imprisonment and battery of a dating partner involving child endangerment.
Tunica County investigators say the case remains active and ongoing.
