The Tupelo Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting that left one man injured and damaged a nearby home.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 9:19 p.m. on Saturday, September 6th in the 1500 block of Reed Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid before the victim was transported by ambulance for further treatment.
During the incident, bullets also struck a neighboring residence while people were inside. Fortunately, no additional injuries were reported.
Police say investigators have since processed multiple scenes, collected evidence, and taken two adults into custody on unrelated charges. However, no one has yet been formally charged in connection with the shooting itself.
