ABERDEEN — Aberdeen police are investigating a shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead early Saturday morning, according to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Saturday to a residence on Evergreen Drive, just off South Meridian Street, where they found Anfernee Shakur Orr of Okolona in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the driveway. Orr had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at 2:33 a.m. by paramedics.
Orr’s body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Pearl for autopsy.
Aberdeen police continue to investigate the shooting and have not released further details.
