RIDGELAND — Watkins Construction & Roofing has partnered with First Responders of Mississippi to provide a new roof to a first responder family in need.
The company announced the First Responder Roof Giveaway this week, an initiative aimed at giving back to those who serve their communities in times of crisis.
“This year, we’re giving back to those who give their all,” said Michael Dier, president of Watkins Construction & Roofing. “Through our First Responder Roof Giveaway, we will provide a brand-new roof to a first responder family in need — because heroes deserve a safe and secure home.”
First Responders of Mississippi is a nonprofit organization that supports first responders, their families and agencies during emergencies.
Applications are now open to first responders living in Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Copiah or Warren counties. Families in need of a new roof can apply online at firstrespondersofms.com.
The winner will be announced Oct. 19 during the First Responders Family Appreciation Day at Moseley Meadows. The free event, set for 4 to 7 p.m., is open to first responders and their families. Registration is available through Eventbrite.
