A Picayune man has been arrested after police say he arrived at a local business to meet who he believed was a minor for sexual purposes.
According to the Picayune Police Department, officers responded to a business on Frontage Road around 1:50 p.m. on August 27. When officers arrived, they made contact with a social media team specializing in child predator operations. The team reported that Garland Jeff Brady had been communicating with them and arranged a meeting, believing he was meeting a minor.
When officers confronted Brady, they found that he was also in possession of child pornography on his cell phone. He was arrested and booked into the Pearl River County Jail on charges of Possession of Child Pornography.
Brady made his initial court appearance where a judge denied bond.
Police said the case remains an active investigation and that additional charges may be filed.
