Deen-Tate Memorial Ride to Honor Fallen Hattiesburg Officers

Motorcycle riders, clubs, and jeep enthusiasts are invited to take part in the Deen-Tate Memorial Motorcycle Ride, honoring the lives and service of Hattiesburg Police Officers B.J. Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed in the line of duty on May 9, 2015.

Now, a decade later, the community will gather to remember their sacrifice and raise funds for the Deen-Tate Scholarship, administered by the Pinebelt Foundation.

The memorial ride is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, beginning at Hattiesburg Cycles, 6412 Highway 49. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and kickstands go up at 10:00 a.m. The 51-mile ride will last about 90 minutes and will conclude with a brief memorial ceremony.

Registration fees are $25 per rider and $10 per passenger. Pre-registration includes a souvenir t-shirt and merchandise bag. Day-of registration will be available from 8:00–9:45 a.m.

Requirements for Riders:

  • All participants must have a valid motorcycle license and insurance.

  • Helmets are required by Mississippi law for both riders and passengers.

  • Riders are asked to arrive with a full tank of gas.

Ride Details:

  • The ride will be escorted by local law enforcement.

  • All traffic laws will be observed for safety.

  • A memorial ceremony will follow at the ending location.

  • Sponsor: Businesses or individuals wishing to sponsor can contact William Moore at Hattiesburg Cycles or Caroline Nurkin at the Pinebelt Foundation.

  • Volunteer: Help is needed for registration, route support, and other event tasks.
