GREENVILLE – Police in Greenville have arrested a man for the shooting death of his brother on Wednesday night.
At around 9 p.m., officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to a home in the 700 block of Cotton Drive in reference to a shooting and found a man lying in the hallway of his residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was taken to Delta Health Systems, but later died from his injuries. He was identified as 27-year-old Gervonte Johnson of Greenville.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear, but investigators have currently charged the victim’s 21-year-old brother Santwan Johnson with his murder. Santwan Johnson sits in the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting his initial appearance.
