A little girl who was injured in a domestic shooting that left two dead last week got a special escort home after her time in the hospital.
While Sheriff K.C. Hamp didn’t identify the 6-year-old, the department posted a video of the procession.
“Law Enforcement takes a unified front against domestic violence. Everyone is affected by domestic violence. Law Enforcement and the Community are one family, together,” the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department posted. “After being injured in a shooting, one brave little girl received a special escort home — not just for safety, but for healing. After the tragic shooting incident that occurred on Friday, July 11, 2025 – officers wanted the blue lights this little girl remembered to be happy ones.”
Hamp and deputies with Tunica County, Coahoma County, DeSoto County, and Shelby County, TN, gave her a full police escort. They said they were just making sure the blue lights she remembers aren’t tied to tragedy — but to love, strength, and support.
“Because every child deserves to feel safe. And every light should shine with hope,” Tunica County posted.
We at Darkhorse Press support and pray for this little girl, and echo Tunica County… Every child deserves to be safe.
