The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 62-year-old woman, last seen early this morning.
Cynthia “Cindy” Mitchell was reported missing after she left her home on County Road 627 around 5 a.m. on foot. According to authorities, Mitchell has a medical condition that may impair her decision-making, and there is growing concern for her safety.
She is described as approximately 5’6” tall, and was last seen wearing a reddish-orange blouse and blue jeans. Investigators believe she may also be accompanied by a small white dog.
Anyone who has seen Mrs. Mitchell or has any information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 662-286-5521.
Authorities are continuing search efforts and asking residents in the area to be alert and check any nearby outbuildings or property where someone may seek shelter.
