Out of Office Field Day Promotes Civic Engagement, Mental Health, and Community Fun

Jackson — On Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jackson will come alive with a one-of-a-kind civic wellness experience.

Out of Office Field Day is a community engagement event designed to bring together working professionals, civic leaders, change agents, and residents for a day of networking, team-building, play, and purpose.

The event is spearheaded by Jessica Davenport, a Spring 2025 fellow with Change Collective, a national leadership program supporting local changemakers across the country. Taking place during Mental Health Awareness Month, Out of Office Field Day responds to the growing need for intentional spaces where Jacksonians can prioritize wellness, restore connection, and access local resources — all while having fun.

“Jackson is full of people who give so much of themselves to our communities — this is a chance to give something back,” said Davenport “We’re bringing joy, movement, and mental health awareness into one space while supporting the next generation of tech leaders through our partnership with The Bean Path.”

The event will feature:

  • Field Day-style games & team challenges
  • Wellness activations and mental health resources
  • Local vendors, food, and community partners
  • Giveaways and prizes
  • Music, networking, and a chance to play like a kid again

A portion of all proceeds will benefit The Bean Path, a local nonprofit working to bridge the digital divide by providing technical support, digital education, and innovation opportunities in Jackson.

The planning team is currently seeking community partners, sponsors, and in-kind supporters. Local businesses are encouraged to get involved by donating goods, offering resources, or setting up vendor tables.
