The Magee Police Department is inviting women in the community to take part in a free self-defense class designed to empower and educate.

The class will take place on Saturday, May 31, at 10:00 a.m. at the Magee Fire Department. It is open to women of all ages and backgrounds, and no prior experience is necessary.

“This class is about giving women the tools they need to stay safe and confident in everyday situations,” said Magee Police Chief Denis J. Borges. “Even though it’s just one day, the skills learned can make a lasting impact.”

The session will cover real-world techniques in a hands-on and supportive environment. Participants will learn how to stay alert, respond to potential threats, and defend themselves effectively if needed.

Whether you’re a student, professional, or a busy mom, the department encourages all women to attend and take this step toward personal strength and safety.

The class will be led by an experienced instructor and is completely free to the public.
