A Jackson man has been arrested in connection with the vandalism and attempted theft of air conditioning components behind a local business.

On May 2, 43-year-old Clinton Pierre Jr. was taken into custody by the Jackson Police Department and charged with Malicious Mischief and Possession of Burglary Tools, both felonies.

Investigators say Pierre entered the rear area of a business located in the 1000 block of McDowell Road, where he damaged an outdoor air conditioning unit by cutting copper pipes. The incident was captured on surveillance video, leading to Pierre’s identification and arrest.

Police noted that Pierre is already known to the department for similar activity dating back to 2024.

He appeared before a Municipal Court Judge and was issued a $10,000 bond for the combined charges.

This case remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477) or the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234.
